Sea of Conquest: Pirate War

Cross-Server Activities and World Events

Overview

Sea of Conquest: Pirate War introduces a range of cross-server activities from Season 2 onward, bringing together players from different home servers onto shared sea maps to compete for territory, trade routes, and prestige. The Inner Ocean Gate serves as the primary objective in Season 1, opening the path to the high-stakes central sea once captured. Beyond the gates, Gangs battle for Sentry Towers and strategic positions on cross-server maps. Weekly and seasonal competition events — including the Showdown o' Gangs and the Lord of the Seas — add structured PvP layers, while the Infamy system creates dynamic bounty mechanics for players who engage in piracy.

The Inner Ocean Gate

The Inner Ocean Gate is the central strategic objective on every season map. Gangs work to establish an unbroken line of Sentry Towers stretching from their starting port through level-2 and level-3 ports and onward to the Gates of the Inner Ocean.

After ten days of gameplay (Chapter 13 of the Grand Odyssey storyline), the gates to the Inner Ocean open. Trade routes in this central sea region yield significantly more Gold — 2x to 3x compared to outer zones — but competition from high-power players and Gangs is substantially more intense.

The Infamy System

The Infamy system penalizes and rewards high-risk piracy behavior. Actions such as sinking merchant ships or attacking uninvolved players accumulate Infamy points. Players with high Infamy have bounties placed on them and can be hunted by any player regardless of alliances or truces.

Infamy LevelEffectCounter-Measure
Low (below 1,000)Small bounty, limited riskNormal gameplay unaffected
High (1,000+)Large bounty, added to the Wanted ListAll players can track and attack

Infamy can be reduced by using the Heart of Atonement item, purchasable from the Dock Merchant stall in exchange for Emeralds.

Cross-Server Chat

The cross-server chat channel enables communication between players from different home servers as soon as they are active on a shared season map (S2 or higher). Primary uses include:

  • Coordinating Gang attacks and territorial defense
  • Negotiating alliances and ceasefire agreements
  • Organizing cooperative encounters against World Bosses

World Bosses and Cooperative Encounters

In higher seasons, powerful World Bosses appear on the sea map requiring coordinated effort from multiple players or entire Gangs to defeat. These encounters reward all participating players proportionally based on damage dealt and represent some of the most valuable cooperative content in the game.

Tips

  • Tip: Only push toward the Inner Ocean Gate once your Flagship is sufficiently powerful — the strongest players on the server converge there, and an underpowered fleet will be sunk repeatedly.
  • Tip: Form alliances with neighboring Gangs well before the Inner Ocean Gate opens — coordinated multi-Gang efforts dramatically increase the chances of holding key territory.
  • Tip: Watch the Showdown o' Gangs live as a spectator — the game randomly distributes Echo Conch and Golden Conch to active viewers, making spectating directly profitable.
  • Tip: Keep Infamy as low as possible; players on the Wanted List are permanently trackable by every other player on the map and become easy targets regardless of docking status.
  • Tip: Use the Heart of Atonement early when Infamy reaches dangerous levels — waiting only makes the situation harder to escape, as bounty hunters accumulate.
  • Tip: In Gang War, remember that a war declaration is only possible when your Gang's territory borders the target Gang's territory — plan expansions strategically toward your intended opponents rather than expanding randomly.
